I love Sifu Alex and I love working with him! Sifu Alex is an expert in his field and an expert in the art of teaching. He is patient, resourceful and motivating. I love what he has taught me in Kung Fu and how skilled I've become. As an fitness expert I am extremely discerning and Alex is one of the top in his field.

Sifu Alex Lamas is a delightful, engaging and perfectionist practitioner and teacher of Tai Chi (at PFX gym). I have been a student of Sifu Alex for several years and am never bored, always challenged and appreciative of his insights on this martial arts form, the culture and history behind it and health benefits it supports. Some will avoid the "perfectionist" aspect, but it helps me to concentrate, focus and remember. The form is akin to dance, which I love, and the "moving meditation" aspect promotes a peaceful mind.

I have been in Alex's Tai-chi class in the Green burgh Evergreen Senior Club for more than two years. He is a genuine Tai-chi master and knows our specific needs. His class starts with a series of warm-up exercises, about 10 minutes, to loose up our core and limbs. Then he leads us through the whole series of Tai-chi Quan movements ( we practice the simpler type, the 24-movements ) from beginning to end. Then he breaks down the series into short sections, slows down to show us the detailed steps to go through each movement. He sometimes also tells us how each movement can be used as a self-defense technique. I learn a lot from him and gain the health benefits arising from practicing Tai-chi. He is a wonderful teacher. Did I mention he has a big heart too?

Sifu Alex has been both my personal trainer and Sifu. While the training was well structured and well rounded to meet my goals, his kungfu class provides a unique full body and mind experience that is the better form of exercise. I am now more flexible physically and enjoy teaching my kids the self-defense techniques learned in kungfu.

My son has been in Kung Fu classes with Sifu Alex for 4 years. The kids in the group are similar ages, but have a wide range of interests, skills and attention. Alex does a terrific job keeping the boys engaged. He varies the activities and intensity so that the kids want to keep coming. He is the only coach who has ever really connected with my son.

Sifu Alex is a very caring and patient teacher. He never makes you feel inadequate, and is always encouraging us to do what we can. He emphasizes the benefits for us seniors that deal with our specific aging problems in a very supportive way. I personally love the way he has incorporated qi-gong with the tai chi. I do feel that my balance has improved since I have been participating in his classes. I truly hate to miss his classes~!

My son Will enjoyed the class and his self confidence and ability both increased because of his time with Sifu Alex! We had tried another martial arts group when he was younger and the teachers were not able to keep my child’s attention, but Alex really worked beautifully with Will and helped him to learn and appreciate Kung fu! Sifu Alex is amazing with children of all abilities!

Sifu Alex Lamas is the 'real deal'. He is knowledgeable , personable, and a delight to be with. He is able to connect and teach to kids, adults, and seniors. His buddhist and meditative interests bring much to tai chi.

I've been studying Fu Jow Pai, Kung Fu for over a year. I love the physical workout and particularly the mind/body connection necessary for understanding as well as getting the full effect of this Marshall Art's discipline. Sifu Alex's class is challenging, insightful and fulfilling.

I now have a heavy punching bag in my garage that I use. I was inspired by my classes with Sifu Lamas. I actually was showing my kids, my neice, and nephew some techniques I learned from Sifu . Whenever I work out on the bag- I thinking of the defense strikes and kicking techniques that Sifu taught me. Sifu Lamas lives and breathes teaching kung fu and wellness. He's the ideal teacher. I look forward to working with or taking classes with him again.
